Mother & Daughter
Mother & Daughter is an artist book I created in 2008 that combined my mother’s story of immigrating to the United States by boat in the 1950s with my own story of going to art school in the 1990s.
Both stories share the themes of travel (literal and figurative), transformation, and finding that your home is often not defined by your birthplace.
This piece was featured in exhibitions at Root Division in San Francisco and the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
