Fear Not Library

The Fear Not Library was part of the Fear Not Project.

It consists of 18 of the best-selling books of all time.

All of the text in the books has been whited out except for the words “Fear not” or similar messages.

The books include:

  • Catcher in the Rye
  • The Da Vinci Code
  • The Diary of a Young Girl
  • The Fellowship of the Ring
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
  • Heidi
  • Jonathan Livingston Seagull
  • The Little Prince
  • King Solomon’s Mines
  • The Koran
  • The Mark of Zorro
  • Quotations from Chairman Mao
  • To Kill a Mockingbird
  • The Valley of the Dolls

For installations, the Fear Not Library was set up like a reading room, with the books open on tables at the center of the room. Viewers were free to flip through the books, discovering messages as they went.
