Found #7 and calm

I visited the de Young last week and got to rediscover this gem that’s free to the public in the far corner of the sculpture garden: James Turrell’s “Three Gems.” If you haven’t visited yet, I don’t want to spoil the surprise of what you’ll find inside, so this is just a shot of the entrance.

I will say that James Turrell’s stated medium is light. And that he’s just a wee bit good at it.

However, if you’re unable to visit the de Young and want to go ahead and see the thing, I think this video will give you a decent idea, though sadly it does not have the amazing sense of calm his work gives you.
