Still life
One of my favorite places to draw, the cafe at the main library, is closing at the end of this month. Above is one of the pieces I was working on there this week.
I am hopeful that the space will remain open in some form. This cafe has such an amazing variety of patrons: the wealthy guys planning their business, the young man working on his music, the moms and kids of all colors, the group of disabled adults who come in every Thursday and sometimes share my table, the four young guys who stay for hours, playing some kind of role-playing video game together. And then me, of course, the middle-aged white lady always doing her funny little drawings.
