Jennifer Maria Harris is an artist based in San Francisco who believes in the power of stories to
She creates oil paintings, prints, photography, murals, and interactive projects as different facets of a narrative mirror that invites viewers to discover and explore their internalized stories.
She has exhibited work across the United States and in Europe, and her public art projects have involved people from around the world in more than 15 languages.
She also likes to share the story of her ongoing process in the studio and what it teaches her about the rest of life.
Most of the time she doesn’t talk about herself in the third person.
I am excited (and relieved) to announce that I recently completed 27 pieces in my new series, Scene. Incorporating acrylic, ink, watercolor, and basswood on paper mounted on cradled panel, Scene creates a topographical representation of the relationship between our visible reality and the invisible world all around us, and questions our role in creating and navigating that larger pattern.
I also recently moved my blog to a Substack newsletter called Show & Tell in which I share mostly arts-related things I see and hear that have a positive impact on me, as well as sharing my process in the studio.
